EdR Redesign of College Property Sites
Art Direction Web Design Responsive Design
After completing the redesign of EdR Trust's corporate site, they came back wanting help with the design of all of their websites for each of their properties across the country. EdR Trust is one of the leading companies in building and managing collegiate housing in the nation. For all of the properties they own, they each have a website to feature amenities, floorplans, photography of the locations, and application info. The sites also provide a way for students and/or parents to keep up with rent, manage their accounts and more.
They had a system of templates that they managed for all of these sites. Every property had it's own domain, website, etc - the only things that changed were the logo, color cheme, content and photography. The old templates were looking dated, no where close to mobile friendly, and they were growing as a company and increasing the strength of their position in the industry. They were ready to update all of their sites to show it. The challenge was to come up with an overall design that was flexible enough to apply to any of the properties they managed, allow for different color schemes, logos, and content. The design also needed to be fresh, current, and appealing to the young college crowd; but also look credible and trusted enough for parents shopping around for their kids.
In order to tackle this challenge, I decided to start with design tiles. You can see what I started with in the images above. From there we began trying a few layouts and focusing in on the final design more and more. Working with their in-house team and the agency team I was a part of, we were able to bring them an overall design that was current and fresh looking, and could be easily applied across all of their property websites.
